Maxis isn’t done with The Sims 4 yet. The simulation game just got its first big update of the year with a long-requested feature.

The Sims 4 still has a bright future ahead of it. While the fifth installment isn’t expected for a few more years, Maxis continues to update its current version. The arrival of the first big expansion of the year is imminent and almost 9 years after its initial release, the game has finally welcomed a requested feature since its launch. Here’s what to know about The Sims 4’s big update.

Infants finally in The Sims 4

Fans have been waiting for it for many years, it’s finally here. The Sims 4 Toddler Update is available from this Tuesday, March 14, 2023 on all platforms. If it adds a whole bunch of new features, it is before the new fast stage, Infants, which has been long overdue. Where a few weeks ago newborns were prisoners of their cradles and considered as simple objects, they can now get out and interact with the rest of the family. It is therefore now possible to customize their appearance, both hair, clothing and accessories. Toddlers are also gifted with personality traits.

The new update of The Sims 4 also brings its share of novelties. It is possible to adopt an infant from existing characters (and more randomly) or even try to conceive a Test Tube Baby allowing Sims to play with genetics and have a baby thanks to advances in science. Otherwise, it is also possible to create your infant directly from the Create a Sim menu. And to welcome new family members in the right way, players have access to new furniture and decorations to create the perfect room.

For the record, even more interactions for infants will be available from March 16 via The Sims 4 Grow Together expansion pack . It includes other important steps for them, including the acquisition of new skills allowing them to develop social interactions and explore the world. EA also promises that 18 infant specificities are on the program, with 3 specificities for each Sim.
